Wedding Photographer at Nunsmere Hall
Nunsmere Hall has a lovely private feel to it. The lake, gardens and country house setting make it feel calm and tucked away, which is perfect if you want wedding photographs that feel natural, relaxed and a bit romantic without tipping into cheesy.
This is the sort of venue where the quieter moments work just as well as the big ones. A walk by the lake, guests chatting in the gardens, a quick portrait near the house, someone laughing when they’re supposed to be behaving. It all adds up to a gallery that feels like the day, not just a list of posed photos.
I know how to use Nunsmere Hall without overdoing it. We’ll make the most of the grounds and lakeside setting, but I won’t keep you away from your guests for half the afternoon. You’ve invited them for a reason, after all.
My approach is simple: keep it easy, keep it natural and capture the bits that matter. The nerves, the hugs, the laughter, the speeches, the dancing and all the little moments you probably won’t notice until you see the photos.

Frequently Asked Questions
Nunsmere Hall has a more private, country house feel, with the lake, gardens and manor house all giving the day a calm, tucked-away atmosphere. It’s a lovely venue for couples who want natural photographs with a softer, more romantic feel.
Here are a few common questions couples ask me about wedding photography at Nunsmere Hall.
How do you make the most of Nunsmere Hall’s lakeside setting?
The lake is one of the best features at Nunsmere Hall, but I’ll use it in a relaxed way rather than making you pose awkwardly beside it for ages. A short walk, a few natural portraits and the right light can make it look beautiful without the whole thing feeling staged.
Is Nunsmere Hall good for a more private wedding feel?
Yes, that’s one of the things couples love about it. The grounds give the day a tucked-away feel, which is great for natural photography because people relax into the space. That usually means better candid photos, better reactions and less of that “everyone is watching us” feeling.
Can you capture the gardens as part of the story of the day?
Definitely. The gardens at Nunsmere Hall are not just for couple portraits. They’re great for guest photos, drinks, confetti, informal moments and those quieter parts of the day where people are simply enjoying themselves.
What kind of photography style suits Nunsmere Hall?
Natural, relaxed and a bit romantic without being cheesy. Nunsmere Hall has a softer feel than a big dramatic castle or city hotel, so I’d lean into that: real emotion, warm moments, gentle portraits and plenty of photos of your guests actually enjoying the day.
Is Nunsmere Hall suitable for quick portraits during the day?
Yes. The good thing about Nunsmere Hall is that you do not need to go far for lovely backdrops. We can use the house, gardens and lake quickly, which means you get beautiful portraits without disappearing from your wedding for half the afternoon.

Your Nunsmere Hall Wedding Photographer
I’m Matt, a Yorkshire wedding photographer with over 15 years’ experience, and Nunsmere Hall is one of those venues that really suits my style. It has a softer, more private feel than some of the bigger wedding venues, with the lake, gardens and manor house giving everything a calm, tucked-away atmosphere.
For me, Nunsmere Hall is not about making the photos look overproduced. It’s about using the setting gently and letting the day breathe. A walk by the lake, a few relaxed portraits in the gardens, guests chatting outside, quiet moments in between the big ones. That’s where the good stuff usually happens.
I’ll still help with the bits that need organising. Group photos, portraits, timings, finding the right light and making sure nobody’s gone missing when we need them. But I’m not there to take over your day. I’m there to capture it properly, with all the emotion, laughter and little details that make it yours.
If you’re someone who hates being photographed, you’re exactly the sort of person I’m used to working with. I’ll keep it simple, natural and as painless as possible. No awkward posing, no fake grinning for hours, no pretending you’re in a perfume advert beside the lake.
Over the years, I’ve won plenty of awards, many of them voted for by real couples. I’m proud of that, because it means people trusted me, enjoyed having me there and loved what they got afterwards.
So, if you’re getting married at Nunsmere Hall and want a photographer who understands the venue’s relaxed country house feel, I’d love to hear from you.
